The Wahlch Restoration Block is an engineered, manual resurfacing tool designed to do what sponges and scrapers cannot: physically erase deep knife marks and "reset" your board’s surface to factory-new condition.
While power sanders may be expensive ($65+), noisy, and intimidating to use on a finished kitchen island, this ergonomic block puts the control of a professional woodshop in the palm of your hand. It features a high-grip Velcro™ backing system that allows you to swap between "Repair," "Smooth," and "Finish" modes in seconds.
Why It Works
Knife cuts are not just cosmetic defects; they are microscopic canyons where food particles could get stuck and breed bacteria.
The Restoration Block allows you to safely shave down the timber surface by a fraction of a millimetre, removing the knife markes entirely. It is designed for a 15–20 minute "meditative" maintenance session that restores the board to factory finish.
Key Features
-
Velcro™ Quick-Change System: Features an industrial-grade hook-and-loop face for "Slap-on, Peel-off" grit changes. No screws, no tools required.
- Calibrated Grit Protocol: Comes with a 2-year supply of professional abrasive pads specifically chosen for cutting boards:
- 60 Grit (The Eraser): Removes deep cuts and gouges.
- 80 Grit (The Smoother): Levels the surface.
-
300 Grit (The Polisher): Returns the wood to a silky, "glass-like" finish.
- Ergonomic Control: The solid wood handle is shaped to fit the palm, distributing pressure evenly to prevent hand fatigue and uneven sanding.
